A differenza della grafica bitmap (detta anche raster), o della fotografia, la grafica vettoriale si presta alla stampa su grande formato. Le prime infatti hanno una dimensione massima oltre la quale l’immagine sgrana.
Nell’illustrazione vettoriale invece tutti i disegni di fatto sono descritti da formule matematiche che si adeguano in proporzione e quindi posso essere stampate in qualsiasi dimensione senza mai perdere di definizione.
